On March 20, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a substantial cash reward for Team India following their impressive victory with a 44-run win over New Zealand at the ICC Champions Trophy.
The cricket governing body has declared a Rs 58 crore reward for Rohit Sharma and his team, including Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya in celebration of their historic victory and India's 7th ICC title.
The BCCI stated in a media release that this financial reward honors the contributions of the players, coaching staff and Men's Selection Commitee to this remarkable achievement.
BCCI President Roger Binny stated, "Winning back-to-back ICC titles is a special achievement and this reward acknowledges Team India's dedication and excellence on the global stage."
"This win reaffirms India's top ranking in white-ball cricket, and we are confident the team will continue to thrive in the coming years," BCCI Honorary Secretary Devajit Saikia stated.
India secured the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy with a 4-wicket victory over New Zealand on March 9 at the Dubai Intenational Cricket Stadium.
ICC Championship win earned India their 3rd Champions Trophy title making the first team to accomplish this milestone.
In June last year after winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup the BCCI had announced a Rs 125 crore reward for the T20 World Cup-winning team.
